Photos! Smile!
Many places, many artists, many countries and so many ways to show photography. You only have 2 weeks left to enjoy Le Mois de la Photo.
Forget the classic photography exhibitions where you always see the same thing: a white wall on which are hung side to side encadré pictures. Here, you’ll find videos, installations, sculptures and graphic art… all related to photography of course.
There are eleven exhibitions sites all over Montreal. Of them all, I recommend Les Ateliers Jean Brillant, in which you can see the powerful installation The Sound of Silence, by Alfredo Jaar. Another good place to go is La Maison de la culture de Frontenac where is presented Aliento by Oscar Munoz (you will hear about him soon). And for Montreal artists, you should go to the Fonderie Darling.
Le Mois de La Photo is THE big cultural event this autumn. You don’t need to be an art specialist to appreciate the pieces of art. And last but not least, all exhibitions are free.
